Chinchwad has achieved prominence of Aṣṭavināyaka due to the penance of Śrīman Mahasadhu Śrī Moraya Gosavi Maharaj. The Darśana of all the Shrines present in this temple bestows the Puṇya (religious merit) of Aṣṭavināyakaa Darśana at one place. Among the Gaṇeśa Pīṭhas (Seat or Shrine of a deity considered as most sacred) of Maharashtra Morgaon, Rajur and Padmalay considered as complete Gaṇeśa Pīṭhas whereas Chinchwad is partial Gaṇeśa Pīṭha of Gāṇapatya cult.
